Beach Sweep Overview - Summer 2005
About 20 people came out on June 11 to participate in our beach sweep at Aboiteau Park. The activity was organized as a part of Oceans Day and aimed to inform and educate the public on the importance of the sea's resources and to clean the accumulation of garbage from our beach. Thanks to the support of those volunteers present we were able to fill almost 15 garbage bags.

Types of waste most often found were pieces of plastic and wood and bottles. The beach sweep will be returning next year along with several new areas to clean. Interested volunteers can contact us anytime to participate in or plan the next activity.
